Escape to the peaceful wilderness of Oak Hammock Marsh (North of Winnipeg).
There are over 30 kilometers of trails crisscrossing the marsh with most of them located on the dykes. The trails vary from wooden boardwalks, gravel paths to earth and grass trails. The grass trails are not mowed during spring and summer as they provide important habitats for nesting birds.
We did enjoy a ride in a canoe around the Marsh, Quinn did a great job paddling without complaining.
The Wildlife Management Area is a 3600 hectare restored wetland. The marsh supports as many as 299 species of birds and hundreds of species of mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish & insects. It is an ideal site for birdwatching, photography,
education, or just going for a walk.
